SNAKES and cats and chairs? oh my!

I have actually always liked snakes..always wanted a pet snake..but never got one..which is probably best because I would want something that would grow HUGE. Ahem. Anyway. So I decided to pull out an old sketch of Balaa and do a cleaned up version of it..but I got stuck on the background so for whatever reason snakes popped into my head..and so there you have it. Snake people do not keeelll me..I haven't EVerEVER drawn snakes so its uncharted territory. But I will say I had a blast with it! Balaa is pleased, yessss. And the snakes are suppooosedd to be my pitiful attempt at anacondas.


To all those that answered my last entry with warm wishes and congrats..THANK YOU! I still feel rather undeserving. I am still rather new on the scene and there are so many other big talents out there that deserve that honor just as much, if not waaaay more than me. But, I am still grateful and humbled..and still a bit..shocked O_o..if Califur is around the same time Next year..I may get to spend my birthday at Disneyland. :D!

OMG! Snakes on a pla--....er chair! :D (Sorry! I just had to do it. ;) )

I think the snakes turned out great! I usually have a difficult time drawing their heads since they're so different from most other animals. Heck, their whole bodies are extremely different from most animals. XD You think it would be easy to draw snakes since they don't have so many curves or bone structures to worry about. o_o" But of course, they're actually quite tricky to tackle! You did extremely well though! :D

hehe. Does Balaa look a bit concerned in the drawing, or is it just me? XD Being surrounded by a bunch of snakes that can crush your bones would frighten the bejeebus out of me! At least, if they're not tame. Otherwise I'd be cool with them. =3 *wants a snake pet now*

I think Balaa is at ease with them but then she would still be smart to stay on guard..the way I wanted it to come off is someone comes in to hire her for an assassination..and the snakes just kinda curve and slither around her as they close the deal..which makes the contractor...hummm in a hurry to wrap up business and get outta there XD.

And yuh in a way they are easier and more difficult all at once..its the scales that are tricky and the head shapes..least for me.
