Well there were a few commissions I really took forever on and I feel quite horrid about it. I have never been grand at drawing equines but for whatever reason I was struck with the mood. This is a way overdue sketchbook commission for
firesplace of her character. Since it took me so long to get it done, I threw on some extra detail/shading work on it. Hope ya like it :).

Date: 2006-05-02 02:59 pm (UTC)That is a really rather gorgeous equine! There's something nooot quite right with her, but that's just a tiny nitpick.
The pose, the textures, the shading, everything is utterly gorgeous ♥
Also, hi person with an awesome sense for design. Do you think you could have a look at this and say which design you like best? Whenever you have time? :D

Date: 2006-05-02 03:46 pm (UTC)Aaah your trad media is simply too awesome. This is pencil, right? How do you make it look so milky and yet... dense at the same time? The liquidy look just kills me. *ded*

Date: 2006-05-06 02:19 am (UTC)As for the q-tip..my art teacher's mind was actually blown too when he saw me using it. I don't remember who suggested it to me first but they work better than tortillons O_o..and you can get very smooth effects with something as common as a q-tip...

Date: 2006-05-03 01:07 pm (UTC)Hows it going with you and your family? Just thought I would ask! I like to know how all my buds are doing in this great big silly world!
Mayn you really are hard on yourself friend? I do not see what you are complaining about! This is one of the best examples of eqine art I have seen out there! I know beacuse I am one who adores equines! You did a most wonderful job on her to say the least! With that being said could you please let me know when you would have an opening for comissions again! I would love to have your uber talented self draw my dragon character as and anthro, and I would also like to have you draw my horse character! If you nedd the descriptions of either one again please let me know!
Well friend have a most excellent day, and please stop being such a harsh judge on yourself! You and your family take care always! God bless and keep you all safe and happy always!***Gives you a warm friendly hug and says, "My but arnt you one talented artist my little Ligeress friend!"***

Date: 2006-05-04 02:45 am (UTC)Thank you as always for the comment..sometimes I am so afraid people will see the mistakes I see over the good things about any picture I do..sometimes its really nice to hear that I am being a bit paranoid. So thank you again..just an overly big critic of my own work..but in that same respect..at least being hard on my work forces me to improve :).
I hope life is treating you better, read in your journal that you liked your new job..I'm glad to hear that, I know things were pretty hard on you for a long while there. I hope things just keep getting better and better for you!

Date: 2006-05-06 12:30 am (UTC)Seriously though, your real media is easily my favorite of all the stuff you do. The detail in this--especially the hair--is amazing. Your real media sketches have this fantastic feel of realism meshed with art nouveau. I can't imagine firesplace not loving this.
