Ok so I worked at it for a while but you cant really see the detail in this shot..which is ok for now. I am having problems with the background so I am asking you guys for your help. I haven't a clue what to really do with it or what colors to go with that will not eat away at the moth critter. Trish suggested giving a sense of scale and making the moth lion tiny, so perhaps perched on a leaf or flower mebbe. But again that still leaves me with the problem of color and mood.

Any suggestions are welcome, bare in mind its still not done..soo uh...avert your eyes from his deformed lower body XD. I tend to detail from top to bottom.

HELPS! Thanks all..constructive critique is very welcome and TRULY appreciated!!

Also random 10 DAYS to go afore I see trish YAYY Im getting so freggiiin gidddyyyy!!

and another random *tosses Baggy a hug* :D

I think it looks wonderful so far Balaa! But as far as mood/surroundings...for some reason I keep seeing this cute lil guy sitting beside a waterfall, river, or pool of some kind...mainly to the left, since you have that nice strong blue on his face. I can see that light as if reflecting off of water, y'know? And it looks like something has caught its attention, and that's why the head is turned...I think tossing something in at the upper right-hand corner, to give it something to look at (this might also help you with achieving that sense of scale) would really help bring this to life and make the picture tell a story.

Anyway, I hope that might get your brain going as far as ideas...I'm not really good at coming up with atmosphere, but that's just what I saw when I looked at it. XD And might I also say that I LOVE the wings! All those little veins...just gorgeous. I envy!

I actually never thought of that...but Ive never played much with water and then for that matter nore sure if it would balance the composition, unless I moved the cub over and extended the canvas to be more panoramic with the cub in the right corner and a pond/body of water to the left. *ponder ponder*. I really should stick with doing bg first and the foreground last XD...Im so thick headed.

THANK you for the input...and dun envy me..I drool over your anthros...and and for some reason the image of your hummingbird griffin dude keeps creeping up on me at random moments! XD!

Wish I had some advice. You do realism so well, I'm not quite sure what to say about it. Good luck though.

Ohh, one look at those WIPs telling me that complete picture will be gorgeouse. I wish I could critique, but I just can't see something wrong with it. I really wish that you would make tutorial on the fur someday. That would be so wonderful. But now I'll just stare at your beautiful art and try to leave good comments. :))

Oh Wowies! Looks fantastic!
Awesome work on the fur and the MothWings! :3 Tehee, I know it's quite senseless to ask how you make such, that's talent ^__^

*wave* Greetings!

The little lion is turning out wonderfully! ^_^ I agree that showing how tiny it is would be the best. I think being perched on a branch or flower would be really cool.
