Thank you, first and foremost, to all the kind warm words and sincere care left in responce to my last journal. Each and every one brought me comfort and a feeling of warmth. So thank you again. Ironically I came to find out my grandfather passed away the day I was visiting my mom, the first time I visited her in over a year. Perhaps but a mere coincidence but in some way it almost comforts me. Also I went to the ocean and threw a rose in...it was a connection I needed to feel with him and a need to say goodbye since I could not attend his funeral.
I have gone through a lot of soul searching in the last few days and think I am a better person of it.
I haven't done much art since tuesday but its ok..that will catch up I think with time.
Speaking of art, I have started a piece a few days before my grandfather passed away that has taken on a new meaning for me since.

The piece is meant to represent a dreamscape, my dream. I won't go into the details of symbolism I intended for the piece save to say the contrast between the two sides of the piece (ie in color) are very much intentional. One side is meant to be dark, the other bright and hopeful. Even so there is some unity between the two sides

that old piece actually probably started this piece...3 years ago. I tried coloring it several times but it always flopped..so I left it alone hoping one day to come back to it.

This quick sketch in oc actually started to formulate the idea of a dreamscape of hope and doubt.

first test of colors, mood, atmosphere. The composition was very distracting to the eye and the background needed far more development if a final piece were to come together.

the archway that will be behind balaa..more detail added..etc
And so I started to paint it, let it be shaped slowly...still growing and what you see at the top is the piece so far. A special thanks is owed to Bagheera for our powerful oc sessions and Nick for his inspirational heartfelt music.
