Long gone but not forgotten
Apr. 15th, 2005 03:47 pmSooo I havent written in my lj in some time and since Im bored out of my gored, I suppose I shall be a monkey puppet and entertain my royal court.
Ive been working a lot on realism in my digital works, right now my major focus is snow leopards. I have finished the pair of snow leopards but now I am stuck for a descent idea for a bg. Humm I do wish Id start planning my works better. I tend to do this a lot. I get inspired about the central subject and get to working on it. USUALLY by the time I finish the central subject I have a pretty good idea for a bg..as while I worked on the main part I brainstormed out the bg. Lately however..its been quite the opposite. The subject turns out nice but no idea for a bg. Humpf...and the harder I try to plan the worse it seems to backfire. Gotta love the half assed inspiration gene I inherited..thanks dad >_>.
Also Ive been wondering on getting a DA print account but I know absolutely nothing about 1. how to do it...and two just how good of quality are the prints that folks order. I dont want people buying my art and being dissapointed because either A. the colors are way off from what they see on the screen or B. the picture is grainy and pixelated because of the picture I submit to deviant being too small for a larger sized print. Fweh...that and I really dont want to post a BIG picture on deviant only to have it stolen and printed by other jerks. So Ive been wondering if itd be better to offer my own prints. IE announce limited edition print series of my more popular pictures. IE numbered and signed prints. Say allow only 20 prints at 4x5 inches or what have you and each person buying one would get a certificate certifying the print they have is genuine and numbered say 1/20 or what have you. However, this makes me wonder if there would even be an interest in this O.o...so if anyone has any input, shout at me..I need outside ideas/opinions.
ALSO..does anyone here work in CMYK? How does that affect quality in prints..in other words are the color closer to what you see on screen or?
Im yammering..too much coffee..and a donut not enough.
One more thing, since im stuck on digital realism..any other animals folks would like to see me do? Ie outside the feline family perhaps. Any ideas are welcome :).
